Anyone for a Lunchtime Nose Job?

If you think that cosmetic surgery is the only way to change the shape of your nose there could be another possibility to consider.

People may dislike the shape of their nose due to various reasons such as injury that has been sustained, or just not being happy with the natural shape. A nose is often considered the central feature of the face and can greatly impact a persons overall appearance both positively and negatively.

A hump on the bridge, a bump at the end or a slight obliqueness can for some, really affect self confidence.

Additionally, the shape of your nose can affect the way that you breath, restricting airflow and causing the affected individual to breath through their mouth instead of their nose which does cause other issues.

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer with any of the aforementioned symptoms it may have crossed your mind to see a cosmetic surgeon for a surgical solution to the problem or you may have done research into the costs, associated risks and the down time post surgery.

If you have you will have found that surgery can be very costly, has associated risks due to the need for a general anaesthetic and requires substantial recovery time. So if surgery seems too costly, risky or invasive what other options are there?

One solution that is becoming extremely popular is known as a "Liquid Rhinoplasty" or "Non-surgical Rhinoplasty"

Non-Surgical Liquid Rhinoplasty's are becoming more and more common place in the world of aesthetics but what are they, how much do they cost, what are the associated risks and most importantly do they really work?

A non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a Hyaluronic acid based dermal filler to reshape the nose without the need for surgery. The procedure involves injecting the filler into specific areas of the nose to alter its shape, size, and symmetry.

The procedure

Costing from £200 to £600 depending upon the amount of treatment required and the clinic that you go to, the procedure typically takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete hence why it has become known as the "Lunchtime Nose Job" and does not require any downtime. Aside from the possibility of some minor swelling and the possibility of a bruise there is very little evidence that the patient has received any treatment except the change in shape and the associated grin of elation. The results are instantly visible, improving over several hours and the treatment, allows patients to leave the clinic immediately returning to their daily activities.

How Long it Can Last

The effects of a non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty typically last for about 12 to 24 months depending upon your lifestyle, after which the filler gradually begins to dissolve but dont worry, repeat injections can be performed as and when necessary to maintain the desired results.

Risks of Complications Associated with the Procedure

As with any cosmetic/ medical procedure, there are always risks of complications associated with a non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty. Some potential risks include: minimal bruising and swelling, a small risk of infection, allergic reactions which are uncommon, uneven or unnatural-looking result and in extremely rare cases vascular occlusion.

It is important to choose a qualified practitioner and most importantly, one that is experienced in this procedure to minimize the risk of complications and achieve the best possible results, but, it does seem that in many cases the minimally invasive "Lunchtime Nose Job" is extremely successful and avoids the risk of going under the knife.
